The elimination of evolution as a subject in science classes created a lot of controversy in the States. There was a thought that since it is a theory, other theories of man and how he was created should also be taught. Creationism is one of them. It was not acceptable to some religious groups as to why it was not done. Even though scientists say that there is proof to confirm evolution, this did not sit very well with them. It does have the approval of a large number of citizens and is in fact the most accepted form; there are naysayers who have moved the courts.
